Policy Solutions: Microgrids
We must eliminate laws that prohibit local governments and third parties from aggregating demand and owning electricity systems that cross public rights of way. This will pave the way for establishing rules that allow privately owned microgrids and district energy systems that are designed to provide the highest quality service at the lowest cost.
